This Privacy Policy explains how Orivo (Pty) Ltd ("Orivo", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit orivo.co.za (the "Site"), buy our products or otherwise interact with us. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and other applicable South African law. The Site and our products are offered to customers in South Africa.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, payment details, order history, messages you send to customer support, product reviews, survey responses and anything else you choose to share with us.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, time zone and how you interact with the Site. This is collected through cookies, pixels, log files and similar technologies.

Information from other sources: information from our service providers, advertising partners and public sources, such as delivery confirmations from couriers or conversion data from advertising platforms.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to process and fulfil orders and payments; provide customer support; send order and delivery updates; send marketing you have opted in to; personalise product recommendations; run, maintain and improve the Site; detect and prevent fraud; and meet our legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

We share personal information with service providers (operators under POPIA) who perform services on our behalf, including Shopify (ecommerce platform and payments), our payment gateways, email marketing and customer support tools, review platforms, courier and fulfilment partners, and providers that support fraud prevention, analytics and Site operations. These providers may only use your personal information to provide services to us and must keep it secure and confidential.

We may also disclose information to comply with the law, respond to a legal process, protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

4. Advertising and analytics partners

We share limited information, such as identifiers, browsing activity and purchase information, with advertising and analytics partners (for example Meta, Google and TikTok) to measure and deliver advertising. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not knowingly share the personal information of anyone under 18 for advertising. You can opt out of interest-based advertising by adjusting your settings on those platforms, through your browser's cookie controls, or by emailing us at orivo64@gmail.com.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Site to work (cart, checkout, login) and others for analytics, advertising and personalisation. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site functions. We honour Global Privacy Control signals where our systems can detect them.

6. Email marketing

With your consent we send marketing emails about our products, promotions and updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests promptly, in line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and the Consumer Protection Act.

7. SMS and WhatsApp marketing

If you opt in to receive text or WhatsApp messages from Orivo, you consent to receive recurring marketing messages at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to keep business and tax records, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. After that we delete or anonymise it, in line with applicable law.

9. Data security

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, use or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.

10. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Health and wellness information

If you share health or wellness information with us, for example in a customer support conversation, we use it only to respond to your query or personalise recommendations. We do not sell this information or use it for targeted advertising.

12. Reviews and testimonials

Where we offer an incentive, such as a discount, in exchange for a product review, we disclose that connection to the reviewer and, where applicable, to readers.

13. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct or delete it; object to processing, including for direct marketing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za). To exercise any of these rights, email orivo64@gmail.com. We will verify your identity before acting on access, correction or deletion requests. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

14. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. We use limited automated tools provided by Shopify to flag potentially fraudulent orders, such as temporarily blocking payment methods or IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
